Biography
Austin Niemtschk is an Associate whose practice focuses on debtor-creditor matters, including Chapter 11 representations, bankruptcy trustee representations, out-of-court workouts and restructurings, and bankruptcy-related appellate matters.
Austin joined the firm as a law clerk during his final year of law school. While completing his J.D., he successfully passed the Texas Bar Exam while simultaneously balancing law school coursework, journal responsibilities, and his work at the firm.
Prior to joining the firm, Austin served as a summer law clerk with the Bankruptcy Regulatory team at the Office of the Attorney General of Texas. In that role, he was involved in, among other things, the state’s regulatory enforcement of the Texas Direct-to-Consumer Genetic Testing Act in the 23andMe bankruptcy case.
Austin also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Christine Weems of the 281st Civil District Court in Harris County, Texas. His experience in state court provided greater insight into the state-law rights and remedies that constitute much of the substantive rights ultimately addressed and adjusted in bankruptcy court.
