An experienced business attorney, Mr. Shannon focuses his practice on bankruptcy, financial restructuring, and related business matters. He frequently represents debtors, creditors, committees, trustees, and other parties in out-of-court workouts, bankruptcy cases, and related adversary proceedings.

Mr. Shannon brings detail-oriented and analytical approach to understanding his clients' needs and achieving their goals. When parties are unable to reach a business solution outside of formal proceedings, he vigorously pursues his clients' interests in court. He has represented parties in high stakes restructuring and litigation matters across the country including in Texas, New York, Delaware, Colorado, Maryland, and Minnesota.

Mr. Shannon also advises clients entering into sophisticated corporate, financial, and real estate transactions. In these representations, Mr. Shannon leverages his bankruptcy and restructuring experience to avoid pitfalls that may arise from ongoing or future financial distress.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Shannon served as a law clerk to Judge Tony Davis for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas in Austin and Judge Glenn Harrell of the Court of Appeals of Maryland. He also has several years of experience in the construction industry, starting as a laborer and ultimately working as an estimator and contracts manager.

Mr. Shannon was selected as a "Rising Star" in 2021, 2022, and 2023 by Texas Super Lawyers in Bankruptcy Law.

  • In re Tehum Care Services, Case No. 23-90086 (Bankr. S.D. Tex.) Represented group of plaintiffs in successfully opposing the extension of the automatic stay to cover non-debtors by agreement with the Debtor.
  • In re Cornerstone Onsite, LLC, Case No. 23-30949 (Bankr. S.D. Tex.). Represented Multi-billion-dollar medical device company in successfully opposing emergency approval of debtor-in-possession financing, pursuing administrative expense priority for certain prepetition claims, and asserting a general unsecured claim.
  • Strike, LLC, Case No. 21-90054 (Bankr. S.D. Tex.). Represented litigation claimant in obtaining relief from the automatic stay to continue prepetition litigation against the Debtor's insurance in state court.
  • Watson Valve Services, Case No. 20-30968 (Bankr. S.D. Tex.). Represented equityholder of solvent debtor obtain recovery of value after payment of creditors, including through objecting to claims of creditors.
